Therapak’s 95 kPa transport pouches and bags are ideal to use as a secondary leakproof packaging in accordance with the Department of Transportation (DOT) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) regulations for shipping Biological Substances. DOT and IATA shipping regulations require that specimens classified as UN3373 Biological Substance, Category B are transported in either a primary receptacle or secondary packaging that has passed the 95 kPa pressure differential test as a part of the triple packaging regulations.

Therapak offers the innovative, award-winning ShuttlePouch for use with kits and packaging that require compliance to IATA Packing Instructions 650 for specimens classified as UN3373 Biological Substance, Category B.

The space-saving ShuttlePouch offers a vast reduction in plastic usage. It is easy to use and has a preinserted absorbent. It is ideal for shipping specimens back to the lab in the original kit packaging or alternate shippers. When ready to use, simply insert the specimen tube, follow the closing instructions printed on the pouch, and complete the kit packing instructions for secure and compliant transport. The pouch features an easy to open tear area to quickly access the specimen tube and facilitate processing when the samples arrive at the lab.

These 95 kPa certified bags feature a patented leak-resistant seal. Specimen tube(s) and other materials can be securely sealed within the front pocket of the bag by peeling away the white adhesive liner and folding the adhesive down to cover the opening. The 7” x 11” size includes a convenient back pocket that can be used to hold a patient requisition form.
