BioStor™ Freezer Storage Box

BioStor™ 50-place (5x10) plastic storage box with telescoping lid and compact size is ideal for low temperature storage of valuable samples. Boxes accommodate 0.5 mL to 2.0 mL microcentrifuge tubes or cryogenic vials. Molded in durable polypropylene, boxes are fully autoclavable and will not absorb water or degrade like cardboard. Translucent lid, with frosted writing surface, allows for accurate visual and written sample identification.

BioStor™ Screw-Cap Vials

Multi-purpose design serves a broad spectrum of biotechnology laboratory requirements including the collection, processing, centrifugation, long-term storage, and OEM packaging/shipping of restriction enzymes or other DNA/RNA modifying reagents.

Cap features circular 3mm syringe port which is easily pierced for radioisotope labeling and fraction collecting. Uniform, thick-walled construction, with reinforced support collar, allows high speed centrifugation to 17,000xg. Inert, LN²-grade polypropylene protects critical sample viability at extreme temperatures ranging from +121°C to -195°C (LN² vapor phase).

Two-turn closure design ensures that tightening of unique screw-cap will uniformly compress O-ring against beveled seat, eliminating distortion and maintaining seal integrity. Engineered for adverse conditions, vials, caps and ethylene/propylene O-rings are highly resistant to chemical attacks, and may be autoclaved with caps loosened.

Molded-in volume lines and etched writing panels on vials and caps will not crack off or dissolve. External ribs on vials position and lock into serrated holes in metal BioStor™ Racks, allowing single-handed opening and closing of screw-caps.

Order Natural caps or RainbowPacks™ of 10 colors: white, grey, pink, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, and brown. Sterilized packs of assembled caps and vials are inner packaged in bags of 50 with tamper-evident seal. Once seal is broken, bags can be resealed with zip-lock.

Therapak cryogenic vials are ideal for storage or transport of material at extremely low temperatures. The vials have external threads, providing a smooth and uniform inner surface. This eliminates any issues with airborne contamination or sample loss that occasionally results when using internal threaded vials. The screw cap incorporates a molded-in sealing ring which assures a tight leakproof seal.

Therapak's cryogenic vials have successfully passed the 95kPa test. The evaluation consisted of a Hydraulic Pressure Test performed by vacuum method, per ASTM D4991-94 protocol. This testing was performed to meet IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations Part 6.3.5 entitled "Internal Pressure Test". These economically priced cryogenic vials contribute toward "air eligible" standards and therefore should be a common item in clinical trial studies where serum or plasma is collected for frozen shipment to a testing laboratory.

MicroTube™ Rack System

System offers a combination of polypropylene 0.65 mL* MicroTubes™, 1.1 mL MicroTubes™ or TubeStrips™, Micro-Cap Strips™, and 8 x 12 hole MicroRacks™. Design compliments multi-channel pipettors, Beckman Biomek, TomTec Quadra 96 and other robotic work stations. MicroRacks feature 8 x 12 hole pattern for rapid processing using multi-channel pipettors. Alpha-numeric, non-reversing rack and lid ensure positive sample ID. Lid, with individual condensation rings above each tube, prevents cross-contamination. Can be centrifuged, or stacked for storage of biological samples. System is ideal for large volume procedures involving direct sample transfer from microtiter plates to racked storage tubes. Uses include harvesting of hybridoma culture supernatant; CMV, HSV, HTLV-lll testing; uptake and binding assays; EIA/RIA serial dilution procedures. Glass-clear, natural polypropylene MicroTubes are also available in RainbowPacks of 5 assorted colors. All components, except MicroCap Strips, are autoclavable and available in radiation sterilized RadPacks.

Plastic External Thread Cryogenic Vials

These vials are manufactured from polypropylene to withstand temperatures to -196°C. Vials have a silicone washer for a secure seal. Vials can be color-coded with inserts. All self-standing vials have a special base design allowing them to be locked into the cryogenic rack and tray for single-handed manipulation. Sterile, certified non-pyrogenic.

Plastic Internal Thread Cryogenic Vials

These vials are manufactured from polypropylene to withstand temperatures to -196°C. Vials have a silicone washer or rubber O-ring for a secure seal. Vials can be color-coded with inserts. All self-standing vials have a special base design allowing them to be locked into the cryogenic rack and tray for single-handed manipulation. Sterile, certified non-pyrogenic.

Plastic Cap Inserts for Corning® Cryogenic Vials

Cap inserts provide color-coding for easy sample identification. Inserts are available in resealable bags. Non-sterile. Cap inserts fit all Corning® cryogenic vials except part number 34887.

Sterile Nalgene® Cryogenic Vials

Externally-threaded vial for aseptic technique. Basic design is similar to linerless closures used on Nalgene® bottles and carboy - a sealing ring in conjunction with specially designed threads. White marking area, fill line and graduations printed on vial. Radiation-sterilized, non-cytotoxic and non-pyrogenic. Self-standing.

These cryogenic storage boxes are designed for low temperature storage of specimen tubes and vials. The 2” high boxes are primarily used for 1.2 mL, 1.8 mL and 2.0 mL capacity cryogenic vials. The 3” high boxes are used for cryogenic vials in the 3.6 mL to 5.0 mL capacity range. The 5” box with 49-tube slot divider is perfect for 15 mL conical centrifuge tubes and other elongated storage tubes up to 125 mm. 5” boxes with 16-tube slot dividers are ideal for 50 mL conical centrifuge tubes with or without skirted bottoms.
