Car Caddies

Car Caddies are large capacity containers for specimen transport that fit well in most courier vehicles.

Available in five different internal configurations, the Car Caddy provides for multiple temperature possibilities within the same container. Specimens requiring frozen, refrigerated, and ambient temperatures can be easily segregated while maintaining the required temperatures of the individual specimen. In addition to the interlocking foam lids, a nylon mesh belt with a quick-release buckle is utilized across the top to assist in securing the lids.

The outer shell is composed of Kelly green 4mm corrugated plastic, which is both durable and easy to clean. Built-in reinforced metal handles assure safe transport from the vehicle to the testing area. The interior is available in two different materials - EPS foam inserts and urethane inserts. Please see below for optional configurations.

Courier Shippers

Therapak's integrated courier transport system provides a cost-effective method for contract couriers to ship samples collected at the clinic, hospital, or physician to a testing laboratory.

The system offers variable temperature compartments within one courier overwrap container. The courier overwrap container consists of a 4-mm rigid and durable corrugated plastic container (Therapak No. 36520) that is reusable. The courier overwrap serves as a housing to accept various insulated polyurethane (PUR) coolers with lids. The PUR coolers feature one inch insulation.

Depending on your daily specimen temperature requirements, laboratories or their designated couriers must evaluate the best internal configuration considering you can mix and match the insulated polyurethane (PUR) coolers within the courier overwrap container. There are four (4) interior configurations to choose from based on your temperature and transport requirements.

The thermal efficiencies noted in these interior configurations allow transport of frozen, refrigerated and ambient specimens within one courier overwrap container. Overwrap container comes with easy-carry handle and features strapless closure system.

Courier Totes

These convenient and portable courier totes offer lightweight versatility as well as durability for your specimen transport requirements. Constructed of waterproof, scuff resistant nylon material, the small courier tote includes a molded urethane insert, while the standard size courier tote utilizes an EPS foam insert. Adjustable dividers are included. Each feature serves to protect the safety and integrity of both refrigerated and frozen specimens.

The courier totes come with a standard 2" fold over closure. After replacing the lid back on the cooler, the courier simply folds the top down to form a secure seal. Located on the back of each tote is an expandable pouch for adding ambient specimens, in addition to two document pockets for requisitions and reports. The standard tote is preprinted with a 2" x 2.5" warm red international biohazard emblem. Professional looks may be greatly enhanced by customizing with the addition of your company logo. These courier totes are certified to meet OSHA regulation 29 CFR and US DOT 49 CFR 173.6 criteria for shipping biological substances via ground courier transport.

DuraTemp Electronic Cooler

For the ultimate preservation of your specimen integrity during transport, the DuraTemp offers a long list of convenient and beneficial features. With its state-of-the-art technology and digital controller, the required temperature can be set and maintained with complete confidence, from frozen to refrigerated. Operates on 12-volt DC or 110-volt AC power with included cables. Battery saving circuitry will protect courier vehicles from premature battery drainage. Virtually silent during operation, it is completely safe to the courier because it does not emit any CO2 gases, thereby reducing the risk of noxious exposure in an enclosed area.

Made of high impact materials, the DuraTemp is constructed to provide years of reliable, trouble-free use. A nylon mesh bag is available to facilitate the transport of specimens between the pick up point and courier vehicle.

An added benefit of the DuraTemp is the cost savings by eliminating the need for procuring and handling dry ice.

Koolatron™ Thermoelectric Cooler / Warmer

The Koolatron family of products provides an ‘active’ solution for the transport of laboratory medical specimens. Using the 12-volt power plug in a vehicle, each Koolatron will cool to approximately 40°F lower than ambient temperature or heat to around 135°F. Optional equipment includes a Battery Saver Switch which protects the car's battery from premature draining as well as an AC Power Adapter. This adapter allows the Koolatron unit to be used in any 110/120 volt AC wall outlet. With 3 sizes to choose from, you can select the capacity that best suits your specific needs.
